Bigfork Area – Wayfarers State Park

Wayfarers State Park

Enjoy camping in the trees, picnicking on the grassy area overlooking the lake, or hiking through the mature forest where wildflowers abound from spring to late fall. The main campground offers 33 campsites. Several walk-in tent sites are located next to the water for visitors arriving by boat. Other amenities at the park include a comfort station with coin-operated showers, and boat and trailer dump stations. Firewood and ice are also for sale. A group use shelter and playground are available in Harry Horn day use area.

Bigfork Area – Yellow Bay State Park

Yellow Bay State Park

The park includes Yellow Bay Creek, five walk-in tent camping spots and a wide,
sandy beach for swimming, sunbathing, scuba diving, boating, fishing, and bird watching.

Directions: Yellow Bay State Parks is located 15 miles north of Polson on Montana 35.


Darby Area – Painted Rocks State Park

Painted Rocks State Park

The remote pine-forest setting is a great get-away for a weekend of camping, fishing and relaxation. This park has 25 campsites.

Directions: Painted Rocks State Park is located 17 miles south of Hamilton
on U.S. 93, then 23 miles SW on route 473.


Lakeside Area – Lake Mary Ronan State Park

Lake Mary Ronan State Park

This park is shaded by Douglas fir and western larch. Lake Mary Ronan provides a quiet camping opportunity nestled among a boreal forest. There are 30 campsites with 20 offering electricity.

Directions: Lake Mary Ronan State Park is located off U.S. 93 at Dayton, then 7 miles northwest.

Lakeside Area – West Shore State Park

West Shore State Park

Considered the quietest park on Flathead Lake, this site is distinguished by a mature fir, pine, and larch forest. The beach is rocky but you can still swim, boat, and camp here. There are 32 campsites at West Shore and the 11 campsites in B-loop have electric hookups.

Directions: West Shore State Park is located 20 miles south of Kalispell on U.S. 93.

Libby Area – Logan State Park

Logan State Park

This park is heavily forested with western larch, Douglas-fir, and ponderosa pine and offers 37 campsites, a comfort station and playground.

Directions: Logan State Park is located 45 miles west of Kalispell on U.S. 2.

Missoula Area – Beavertail Hill State Park

Beavertail Hill State Park

Just off Interstate 90 east of Missoula, this small park offers river frontage offers 24 campsites with electricity and rental tipis.

Directions: Beavertail Hill State Park is located 26 miles southeast of Missoula on I-90 to Beavertail Hill exit #130, then .25 mile south on county road.

Polson Area – Big Arm State Park

Big Arm State Park

This park has 41 campsites and rental yurts. With hiking trails along the shore of magnificent Flathead Lake and is a popular jumping-off point for boating to Wild Horse Island.

Polson Area – Finley Point State Park

Finley Point State Park

Located on the south end of Flathead Lake in a secluded, mature pine forest, Finley Point offers 16 campsites with water and 30-amp electric hookups and two walk-in tent sites. All campsites have a fire ring and grills, and picnic tables.

Seeley Area – Placid Lake State Park

Placid Lake State Park

Located in the beautiful Clearwater/Swan River Valley, this popular campground park is known for its smooth water for good fishing and water sports. There are 40 paved campsites with 17 offering electricity and a comfort station.

Directions: Placid Lake State Park is located 3 miles south of Seeley Lake on Montana 83, then 3 miles west on county road.

Seeley Area – Salmon Lake State Park

Salmon Lake State Park

This park is an access point to one of the beautiful lakes in the Clearwater River chain of lakes. There are 23 paved campsites with 16 of them providing electricity and a comfort station.

Thompson Falls Area – Thompson Falls State Park

Thompson Falls State Park

This site provides excellent fishing and boating opportunities on the Clark Fork River or the Noxon Rapids Reservoir. The park has 17 campsites great for RVs and tents.

Whitefish Area – Whitefish Lake State Park

Whitefish Lake State Park

The park has 29 campsites and a comfort station. Boating, swimming and fishing are popular activities and the lake is rarely windy so it provides ideal conditions for waterskiing.
